My radiators bang loudly at night. Is that dangerous?
It's water hammer — steam collapsing into pooled condensate. Not immediately dangerous, but it stresses fittings and means pitch or trap problems worth fixing before they cause a leak.
How long do boilers last?
Cast-iron boilers routinely run 25-30 years with maintenance; modern condensing boilers 15-20. If yours is past that and repairs are stacking up, it's worth seeing replacement numbers.
Can you convert my steam system to hot water or forced air?

Do high-efficiency condensing boilers really save money?
On hot-water systems, typically 15-25% on fuel. They cost more upfront and want annual maintenance, so we'll give you the honest payback math for your usage — not a brochure number.
